Louisiana Office of Tourism Staff Directory

The Louisiana Office of Tourism is organized into six units:

Administration

The Administration Section is responsible for overseeing all programs developed and implemented by the Office of Tourism. The Assistant Secretary provides the leadership for guiding and supervising the contract professional advertising agency employed to create portions of domestic and international advertising campaigns, promotions, direct mail, public relations services and other informational campaigns.

Communications

The Communications Section provides services to journalists and media, including organization of press trips and maintains an extensive lending of slides; it promulgates the quarterly calendar of events; internal and external media releases and is responsible for maintaining current content submissions to website and stakeholders.

CRT Consolidated Marketing

The CRT Consolidated Marketing Office, under the auspices of the Assistant Secretary of Tourism, serves as a collaborative creative clearinghouse to administer, manage and implement an aggressive, consistent and comprehensive marketing program, including department-wide advertising, promotional initiatives, public relations and special events. It strengthens the department's marketing brand by providing strategic direction for the creation, management and distribution of marketing and advertising initiatives throughout the Department of CRT.

Office of Development and Sales

This division centralizes product development activities such as Louisiana Scenic Byways, Louisiana African American Trail and other statewide trail development, the Mississippi River Road Commission, the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area, rural tourism development and tourism industry outreach with the state, domestic and international travel trade marketing and sales efforts.

Consumer Information Services

The Research Section provides the Louisiana travel industry with international, national, state and local travel patterns and statistics to help the industry make better marketing decisions. The Research Section tracks advertising effectiveness, and oversees contract research. It also distributes a quarterly travel data publication on Louisiana's five promotion regions. Consumer Information/Inquiry provides travel literature and information to prospective visitors, and coordinates fulfillment services.

Welcome Centers

Louisiana operates 14 centers throughout parts of the state, providing information, directions and recommendations on where to go and what to see to millions of visitors each year. The Welcome Center personnel are well trained and take regular trips to all parts of state to increase their knowledge of all five travel regions.
